Terms of Service

Last updated May 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Gantry ("Gantry," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your use of the Gantry mobile application and related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Gantry

You must be at least 17 years old, or the age of majority in the place where you live, to use the Service. By using Gantry you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are able to enter into a binding agreement.

Gantry is currently available only on Apple iOS devices. You are responsible for having a compatible device, an up-to-date operating system, and any internet access needed to use the Service.

2. What Gantry does

Gantry helps you voluntarily limit your own access to selected apps on your device for fixed 24-hour periods, which we call “missions.” When you start a mission, Gantry uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to apply a shield to the apps you have chosen, and removes that shield when the mission ends.

Gantry is a self-control aid, not a guarantee. The shielding depends entirely on Apple-provided frameworks and on your device's configuration. A determined user can bypass it — for example by changing system settings, removing the app, or using another device. Gantry does not promise that any app will be fully inaccessible for the duration of a mission. The Service is a tool that supports your own intent; it does not replace it.

Gantry is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, including compulsive technology use. If you are concerned about your relationship with technology or your mental health, please consult a qualified professional.

3. Your account

Gantry uses Sign in with Apple to create and secure your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Apple ID associated with your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly at ramie.chaarani@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

Plans

Gantry is offered through the following paid plans:

  • Monthly — an auto-renewing subscription billed every month.
  • Annual — an auto-renewing subscription billed every year. A discounted founding-member annual rate may be offered to early subscribers for as long as that offer remains available.
  • Lifetime — a one-time purchase that grants ongoing access without recurring billing.

Free trial

Paid plans may include a 7-day free trial, delivered through Apple's introductory offer mechanism. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and the applicable price will be charged automatically. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple, and only new subscribers are typically eligible.

Renewal and cancellation

All purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account, and are also subject to Apple's applicable terms. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription.

Founding-member pricing

If you subscribe at a founding-member annual rate, Apple's pricing rules mean that rate continues to apply on each renewal for as long as the subscription stays active, even after the founding-member offer is closed to new subscribers. If your subscription lapses, the founding-member rate may no longer be available.

Refunds

Payments and refunds are handled by Apple. We do not directly process payments and generally cannot issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests should be directed to Apple through your purchase history.

Price changes

We may change the price of future plans or offers. Any change to the price of an existing auto-renewing subscription will be handled in accordance with Apple's rules, which generally require notice and, in many cases, your consent before the change takes effect.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its supporting infrastructure;
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, and the Gantry name and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the app-shielding behavior will work without fault on every device or operating-system version.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gantry and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will survive.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where the changes are material, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

12. Apple App Store terms

These Terms are between you and Gantry only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. To the extent any term here conflicts with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, the Apple terms govern as to your relationship with Apple.
